Texting Insomnia

Common observation: When someone can’t sleep, they post about it on Facebook. Text Insomnia

We are not telling you not to do it. Sometimes people get a sense of release when they vent. However ask yourself the following questions next time before you post about your insomnia.

After posting about your insomnia…

10. Do you immediately pass out and find the restful sleep you were looking for?

If not, then read on.

9. Do you initially wait (awake) and see if someone likes your comment?

8. Do you then look for that green dot to see who else is currently live on chat?

7. Do you look at what time it is?

6. Do you calculate how much time you have been awake?

5. Do you calculate how much time there is left to sleep?

4. Do you find yourself irritated that you’re not asleep?

3. Do you feel anxious that you may be tired the next day?

2. Does anxiety and irritation lead you to peaceful sleep? Or does it cause a cascade of racing thoughts?

1. When you do try to get back to sleep, do you think about who else may have liked the post and wake back up to check again?

Feel free to share this with someone who has posted about their insomnia.
